Do you have pecan trees on your property that you need help managing? Have questions about insects, diseases, fertilizing, watering existing trees? Or maybe you are interested in getting started with pecan trees and want to know about varieties for the area? The Washington County Horticulture Committee is hosting a Pecan Field Day on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Cinco B Farms in Burton. This event will be a great opportunity to see a commercial operation as well as learn more about small acreage pecan production in Washington County. The program is free with an RSVP on or before April 22, 2016; so be sure to let the Extension Office know you are attending. Pesticide applicators will be eligible to receive 2 CEUs (1IPM; 1GEN) for attending the meeting. For more information and to RSVP please contact the Washington County Extension Office at (979) 277-6212. Click HERE for brochure.
