WMAs

The Society sponsors Wildlife Management Associations (WMAs) for its members to implement the Society's mission statement. The WMAs operate under a Wildlife Management Plan developed with assistance from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Departmentand the Texas AgriLIFE Extension Agent.
  • Greenvine WMA - May 5, 1995 The boundaries will be the land area which is south of Highway 290 to the Austin County line and from Sandy Creek to the western county line.
  • Sun Oil Field WMA - July 7, 1995 The boundaries will be the land area which is north of Highway 390 to Yegua Creek and the east boundary will be FM 50 and west boundary will be Highway 36.
  • Rocky Creek WMA - August 4, 1995 The boundaries will be the land which is west of Highway 36 to FM 1697 north of Burton and south of Lake Somerville to FM 390.
  • Post Oak WMA - November 17, 1995 The boundaries will be the land area located north of Highway 105 and east of FM 390 to Independence, then north to FM 50 to Yegua Creek.
  • Sandtown WMA - March 29, 1996 The boundaries will be the land area which is located north of Highway 290 and west of FM 1697 to the county line.
  • Mt. Vernon WMA - July 10, 1996 The boundaries will be the land area which is north of Highway 290 and south of FM 390 and bordered on the east by Highway 36 and on the west by FM 1948.
  • New Years Creek WMA - May 18, 1997 The boundaries will be the land area which is south of Highway 105 and FM 1155 to the Austin County border and then east of Highway 36 to the Brazos River.
