Washington County Wildlife Valuation Workshop

On Friday, November 21 from 9:00AM until 4:00PM a wildlife workshop will be held at the Blinn College Rankin Agricultural Complex at 1409 Old Mill Creek Road in Brenham.  This workshop will help landowners that manage their property for wildlife to maintain their ag valuation to learn more about different management techniques that can be incorporated into your management plan.  This workshop will also provide information to those landowners who may be interested in learning more about how to manage a property for wildlife. Guest speakers and topics for the program include: Chief Appraiser of the Washington County Appraisal District, Willy Dilworth;  Introduction to Wildlife Valuation, Stephanie Damron, Natural Resource Specialist, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; Hummingbirds of Central Texas, Kelly Simon, Urban Wildlife Biologist, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; Using Cattle to Manage for Wildlife, Dr. Megan Dominguez Clayton, Assistant Professor and Extension Range Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension; Pollinators, Anne Stine, Pollinator Conservation Specialist, Xerces/NRCS; Native Grassland Ecosystems, Oak Prairie Joint Venture Conservation Delivery Specialist, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; Introduction to Herpetology, Laura Sherrod, Natural Resource Specialist, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; and Considerations for Brush Management, Clint Faas, Conservation Program Coordinator, Texas Wildlife Association.  Contact the Washington County Appraisal District office at 979-277-3740 for more information.
