  4. Display a gate sign indicating their membership and their involvement in the wildlife management co-op. (TPWD will provide the sign for landowners)
  5. Provide year round high quality forage for whitetailed deer with food plots, by controlled burns or by exclusion of cattle from woodland area.
  6. Conduct extensive coyote control.
  7. Monitor deer population.
  8. Collect and analyze buck-doe ratios and fawn survival rate to determine the overall health of the herd. (TPWD will assist in collecting the analyzing this information).
  9. Determine harvest strategy. (TPWD will make harvest recommendations according to population counts, herd information and WMA goals).
  10. Collect age, weight and antler measurements on deer harvested. (TPWD will provide necessary forms and information on ageing, weighing and measuring deer).

Membership Benefits

Your membership entitles you to a copy of an excellent resource handbook entitled “Texas Wildlife Management Handbook”, and a membership gate sign. These items are available at the Washington County office of Texas Cooperative Extension located at 1305 Blue Bell Road, Suite 104 in Brenham. Please stop by this office to pick up these materials if you have not already received them.

Your membership is very important to the overall success of this Society, but most of all, everyone must work together to encourage others to join the Society in order to reach the overall mission and objectives of this county-wide organization.
